Florida Decides Healthcare Hosts Day of Action Canvass and Phone Bank to Educate Voters on Medicaid Expansion Ballot Initiative

Tallahassee, Fla. – This Wednesday, Florida Decides Healthcare (FDH) will partner with Youth Action Fund and People Power for Florida, to host a Day of Action Canvass and Phone Bank to mobilize voters in support of Medicaid expansion. Over 3.7 million Floridians are trapped in the healthcare coverage gap, making just enough to put food on the table but not enough to afford private insurance. Volunteers will engage with Floridians across the state to educate them on the urgent need to close the Medicaid gap and encourage them to sign the petition to put this critical issue on the 2026 ballot. Many of these volunteers are at risk of losing their health insurance due to the Affordable Care Act tax credit changes and fall within the Medicaid gap.

Currently, Florida is sending millions of taxpayer dollars to cover healthcare in other states like New York and California. This grassroots effort empowers voters to decide whether Florida will bring this money back to our state to expand Medicaid and provide affordable healthcare to millions of Floridians.
